| i am staying in a rv park which the park do have wireless. i need to look for a usb type wireless card for my desktop computer which has the strongest and longest range ( may be 100 ft far ) at a reasonable price as i am not planing to buy a notebook computer within 3 - 4 months which my notebook was burnt in a fire. anyone suggestion are welcome! ![]() |

| Well also do you want Wireless G - old one or do you want Wireless N - new one I also would just suggest linsys products WUSB300N would be the best one I feel |

| i read the specification of the linksys WUSB300N, linksys say it is for usb1.1 and usb2.0 and 4 time the range. i do not know what the standard range. 4 times the range mean not a big help for me. do anyone know actually how many feet they can read? thanks. |

| thank you very much for your link, it is very helpful. is there any other desktop usb wireless adaptor that can receive up a range of 1000ft or 1500ft away? |

| no such an equipment would probably need some sort of large antenna and need to meed FCC requirements. If you are attempting to set up some sort of bridging network between two buildings then you need a bridging router. Which yes you can connect to it through a USB if it is the only available port such a device would be like the wrt54g and a unidirectional antenna. mounted ontop of your RV and if you are attempting to gain signal from like a neighbor or something then its an overkill. The simple thing i referred to before would be more appropriate. that or the WUSB54G or WUSB54GR If you want something that you can mount in a more useful location (ie closer to a window or something) since you want range i would say the GR Last edited by dice14u : 19-12-2007 at 06:11 AM. |
