Using Wii online with USB Modem/Router ?I have a Nintendo wii and I am connected to Orange broadband on my laptop. To connect to the broadband I have a USB modem (came free from orange when I got broadband)that plugs into the USB slot on my laptop and into the phone line socket on the wall. Can I plug this into the USB ports on the Wii to connect the wii to the net or will I have to connect it another way? If it has to be another way, please could you explain/describe it. Thanks very much.

no you cant use this sorry.you have to get a usb wi fi adaptor for it from most game shops which would plug into the usb on your comp. however your laptop would need a constaint connection to the net as once the wii is internet ready it needs to update and needs a good strong connection to do thisi reccommend using wireless to connect it tho if you can the wi fi adapters are not that great they are very tempremental hope this helps

You have to connect the Nintendo Wii to a wireless router or a Nintendo Wi-Fi connector. The only other method is to use a wired connection.

to get your wii connected to the internet via a pc or laptop you need a crossover cable (mine cost 5 pounds from currys)you then need to go into your internet setting and allow it to share your internet connection.
