who here also are with crappy Virgin and the internet goes down all the time or is it just me, and also not only goes down it is extremely slow and im on there 10mb service...!!!

I do get issues with it, but overall it's much more reliable and much faster than ADSL so count yourself lucky.

Powering off then on your modem is a good idea if things slow down, normally speeds things back up for me.

Also if you download a lot you will get speed clamped in peak periods.

Well I'm also with Virgin, however I can't remember the last time my internet went down (atleast that was their fault) If it ever goes down for me. My Dad just resets the server and firewall, and it's back.

EDIT: Infact, I have had one problem with them a few months ago, but that was some problem and the whole of my area went out for a day or two whilst they fixed it, but apart from that, it's all been fine.

That modem is used for all speeds right upto 20mb, so it is capable of more than two download speeds, you have no idea what that setting means or does and neither do I, again, it is not important, it has nothing to do with your speed issues, call Virgin if you still have issues after resetting your hardware.
