What do you think of Wi-Fi?

I personally always thought that Wi-fi was a good idea. Ya know, head to the nearest coffee shop, or where I am a PeterPiper! I believe the more free Wi-fi spots open up, the easier security will be, I mean if you get semi-good for free, why try to hack into something a little better?
I know that some people would go for the better one, but if you just need to get on to check E-mail or something, there is no real reason to.
Anyway, the reason I bring this up is because here at HighTech, we have our own little page, and the hosts of the HT student page send us news links according to our Major, which mine is Computer Networking and Security. Anyway, the guy on here, a Jon Honeyball thinks we should scrap Wi-fi and start with something new... Here is the link, check it out its pretty interesting

It's an interesting article.

Personally I don't use it, much, but I do install it a lot and set it up and although it's a piece of cake for me it isn't for everyone.

The range and security issues still have a long road to go down.

I have Wi-Fi at home and it's great for mobility around the house. Security is not such an issue when your nearest neighbours are 1/4 mile away.

What I didn't add was I live on a narrow road with no parking except on our property. To hack into my Wi FI would have to be done from the fields or helicopter. Since my area is quiet any strange vehicles would be noticed.

LOlz nice hearing all this , wifi is cool u can access net where ever it is on i was thinking of getting a wifi mobile as its tough to carry a laptop arround .
