| ...computer's modem number is? I am playing a video game, and it offers four alternatives TCP/IP connection, IPX connection, modem connection(which by having dsl, i have), and a serial connection. When my brother tries to connect to my computer in this room across the house, me being the host computer, need to know the number to call (yes, it asked for a modem number) for him to connect to me. |

| ROFL man so many people that have never had a direct connect thru dial up... MODEM = DIAL UPyour DSL "modem" is acually a network bridge not a modem...The number it wants is a phone number... yes games still offer this ability, Duke Nukem was the first game I used that on.Clue bat = TCP/IP connection one needs to host a game first I think before the other can join. |
