Default Wireless Access point!

I will be setting up an Xbox 360 upstairs, and the only way to get it connected to XBL would be to either drill a hole through the floor and run a cable up through it or buy the overpriced Microsoft 360 wireless adapter.

I read on newegg that it would be cheaper to set up a wireless access point. I am looking at this one from Belkin (Which is also the make of my wireless router) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833314030

What all is involved in setting it up? will i be able to have it connect to my wireless router and then run an ethernet cable out the back and into the 360? or will it take a lot of frustration?

Default Wireless Access point!

You should be able to connect via a cable from the xBox to the A/P.

Then wireless the A/P to your current wireless router.

Setup will be fairly simple but it really depends on how competent you are as to how hard it will be.

If you setup your router OK, then you should be fine.

As said by Dave the setup will be easy. Connect up the AP to your pc/laptop first to configure (default ip of most is usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 depending on manufacture, it will tell you this in the quick setup guide) then configure the AP to connect to your wireless LAN (you'll have to enter the SSID and Wep/WPA key if any) give it a static ip on the same subnet as your existing LAN. then just set your xbox's gateway to have the ip of the AP and off you go!
