Default Wireless Access Point

[SIZE=2]Can someone please help me with this dilemma that I have?

I got a new laptop last week, which is wireless enabled. When I am at my house I can get on the internet with no problems whatsoever, as I am able to get online from the connection of a wireless router which is connected to a computer upstairs. When I am at my parents, my dad has the internet, but he does not have a router. He has Broadband, and a Speedtouch dial box, and a D-Link hub. He doesn't get on with routers, they do not seem to work for him!

So when I bought a new ADSL router round the other day, I wasn't best pleased when he said that he didn't want to have his computer connected by the router!
So I am a bit stuck on what to do. Is it possible to have a wireless access point plugged into the Hub, and will I then get internet connection that way? People are telling different things and I am getting confused by it all!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks :)

Default Wireless Access Point

You need a router, I can't see why that would bother your parents, they are more reliable and more secure.

Default Wireless Access Point

A router is by far the best way to go, the built-in firewall on it's own say's it all. The wireless AP in the hub seems OK but something niggles me about it. The router wins on cost, ease of use, easy to set up, security.
