Default Wireless Adapter for Windows 7

I want my PC to have wireless internet via my wireless router at home, but the specifications for the ones I have found require windows 2000-vista so I'm not sure what to do about that. I am ordering parts from www.newegg.ca so I'd like to stay there for this.

How many mbps are you after?
What type of connection?

The only one of mine I've tried works fine - Netgear WG111v2 (USB)

But to be honest, if it says it supports Vista, chances are Win7 will work with it.

I'm not looking for anything special. I'm moving next year and don't know the mbps, maybe 2-3 on dsl I think.

2 to 3?!?

I think you're best bet would be a 54mbps adapter.

Try a search for the Netgear WG111v2, seeing as that definatly does work on Win7.

Well my crappy internet connection here at home is 1.4mbps and supposed to be 5. 54mbps seems overkill though, speedtest.net's max is 50.

Where I'm going the speed will likely be more, i'm not sure how much tho.

Lunch is over for me, will be back later.

54 is now pretty much bog standard.

You won't find much less than that that's even half decent quality.

Plus you'll probably upgrade your connection when you move (I would hope!)

Maybe, but I would have thought it doen't matter because the drivers and software is installed together, it is x86 I'll grant you that, but Windows just sticks it in WOW64 and it works fine.
