Default Wireless BT Voyager 2500 to laptop help

Hey guys

Got a laptop and a BT Wireless Modem. My problem is my Laptop will not connect the majority of the time. It comes up with a weak signal strength on my diagnostics test. But when I browse for connections it says there is a strong signal on my router?! That is until I press connect and it comes up with low signal again. Then it might just decide to connect but is really slow. Then it will disconnect itself again! Another day or later on in day it will connect straight away on startup and be really fast & have done nothing different. Laptops in same place router hasnt been moved or had anything done to it. Argh!! I just dont understand. Anyone know why this happens.
Any help greatly appreciated

PS I have a 360 connected to it and this never has problems so I dont think its the Router although this is by ethernet not wireless

Well the xbox is not a good example as like you said it is not connected wireless.

All you can try is changing the channel on the router for better signal range, try channel 11 or replacing it for a better more powerful model.

Sorry but how would I go about doing this?
Replacing it for a more powerful model isnt really an option as I just cant afford it. Is there a booster or something I could buy that would be cheaper?
I have also tested my desktop PC wireless and this connects fine so could it be anything else

Is the desktop the same distance away as the laptop with the same obstacles between it and the router?

Your manual will explain how to login to the router and change signal channels.
