Default Wireless Connection

It means your laptop is not getting an automatic IP from the router.

First thing to try is rebooting the router then when its up, restart the laptop.

Default Wireless Connection

Does your new laptop have Vista by any chance? If it is, you have to change the routers wireless security to WPA

This can be done by typing the routers IP address into the address bar. you must be connected first though, so plug it in via Ethernet cable.

default user name and password is admin

then go to configuration > wireless > Then change the security to WPA

You also have to press the number 1 on the side of the router before trying to connect. This allows wireless devices to connect to it.

Hope this helps

Aaron
