Hi All,
I'm having a few probelms trying to connect my new laptop to my Orange broadband livebox router. When i open the wireless connection and try to connect to my router it comes up with the following message: “Windows could not finish repairing the because the following action cannot be completed: Renewing Your IP Address. For assistance, contact the person who manages your network.” Any idea where i'm going wrong? My laptop uses a Toshiba Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card and i'm trying to connect to my orange broadband livebox. Thanks guys |

It means your laptop is not getting an automatic IP from the router.

Does your new laptop have Vista by any chance? If it is, you have to change the routers wireless security to WPA
This can be done by typing the routers IP address into the address bar. you must be connected first though, so plug it in via Ethernet cable. default user name and password is admin then go to configuration > wireless > Then change the security to WPA You also have to press the number 1 on the side of the router before trying to connect. This allows wireless devices to connect to it. Hope this helps Aaron
