Default wireless connection

When installing a new router it appears i,ve input my wireless network connection as ad hoc (computer to computer) instead of AP. This means i cant connect to via the router so i'm at present connected straight to modem. Is there anyone who could advise me on how to put this right?

if you mean you cannot connect wirelessly use an enthernet from the router to your pc
