| I have a wireless router on my primary computer, which is set up downstairs. I have recently set up another system upstairs and it has no wiress built in. I'd like to set it up so i can share the broadband connection from the other system. I am new to this topic, and am unsure as the step to take. I have seen networking cards and also wireless USB. The question i ask, is which is better? and what problems, if any, could i encouter? I would appreciate any advice on this subject. Jam90 |

| You have two options: #1 Run a cable upstairs into the LAN port on the new PC, may need a LAN network card. #2 Get a wireless network card for the new PC and use that to connect to the router downstairs. Typically cabled networking is faster, easier to setup and more reliable, but running cables isn't always practical.

| If you are going wired you will probably already have the hardware to accommodate the cable. If going wireless you can fit a card internally or use a USB dongle, both operate the same except one is inside and one isn't. Two types exist for people that do not have USB ports or have slow speed ports, if your PC is fairly current I would go with the USB option, it is much less hassle for a normal user.
