My grans got this old pc which she's has had from new, very reluctant to get rid and buy a new one, so the prob is, she's just got a new wireless router from aol and obv she wants her pc wireless now as befor it was a old usb modem. So i brought her a wireless pci card and installed it, but it would not show in device manager, i tried installing new drivers from the web, no joy, different pci slots still no joy. Her pc meets the min spec for the wireless card, ive also tried it in my pc running vista and it installs fine and works so its not the card... I ran everest to see what that told us and it was showing in there as ok. So i dont know what to try next, so if anyone has ideas in helpin us in my quest it would be great.

Windows 2000 sp4
Celeron 633 cpu
256mb ram
Broadcom BCM4318 wireless pci card

Did you try it in different PCI slots ?

If it's not showing in Device Mangler, it looks like there maybe a compatibility issue.
Have you got any entries in Device Manager with yellow exclamation marks ?
