Default Wireless router

since i have relocated by computer my pings have been so bad that playing online multiplayers is near impossible. my computer is seperated from the wireless router by a wall and a floor, in other words they are on opposite sides of my house on seperate floors.

is there a router that will lower my ping to normal or will i have to purswade my mum to allow me to setup a wired network accross the house? also ive heard about these homeplug things that use the houses wiring for networking, but are these any good?

Default Wireless router

There are different types of wireless detailed here: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatSecti...tion_Id=204037

Better spec = better speed.
