Default Wiresless TO wired _ help

HI ... im using wireless broadband. Ive currently moved house, and there is a phone line in my room, so id much rather use a wired than a wireless connection for like 10cm distance from my pc.

Anyway it seems wireless internet is set as the defualt internet thingi, but i want wired connection.
Ive tried taking the wireless adapter out, but the wired doesnt kick in.

Theres probably some setting which i have to change to make wire work instead or wireless, but i dont no how?

Can someone plz help me, how to get wired connection instead of wireless

(heres some pc spec if u need:
2.5gb ram,
2.89 intel dual core processor,
128 mb grafkixs card,

(im using for wireless: Belkin Wireless G USB Network Adapter

So you've got a modem or router which has wireless I assume? Have you connected your PC's ethernet port to the ethernet port of the modem/router?

Also, assuming you are plugged in as MJM said, make sure the Network (NIC) Card is enabled.

Default Wiresless TO wired _ help

Hi again. The network card is enabled, and my wire (ethernet i think - yellow wire) is connected from my pc to my netgear.

Any other ideas?

Silly question maybe, but .... you have moved house. Did you change your ISP and if so, have you reconfugured the Router ?
