My ISP is AOL and I use 9.0VR . Can't complain, it works fine and finds websites fast BUT, if I want to use Internet Explorer (some programs want to use it automatically), it tells me it can't. The error seems to be "The DHCP client has obtained an IP address that is already in use on the network etc.." It seems the default gateway entry is two digits different from my PC IP address ...01, instead of ....03. This, as you may have gathered, is well beyond my understanding. It only occassionally matters but it would be nice to sort it. Anyone any ideas for an idiot to cope with would be gratefully received.

Many thanks for your suggestion Cattranz and sorry for delay in response. Frankly it's all a bit beyond me at the moment. I need specific help and I may have to fork out for an "expert" to come and deal with it. At least it is only a minor inconvenience, as yet. Still, I'm learning....

IE isn't pulling anything up because it's saying that there is an IP address conflict on there.....so what are the IP addresses that you have in use? What is the IP address of your router, and of all of the computers you have connected (if there are more than one)? I, and most people intensely loathe AOHell, but the information requested is imperative in order to troubleshoot why it's saying that there is an IP addy conflict, unless of course, there really is.
