Default Xbox an Computer through one point

I want to connect my computer and xbox but i only have one internet acces point in my room, the router is downstairs.

Atm i have to keep changing the cable over, is there a cheap/free way of being able to have both running at the same time ?

Thanks

If both pieces of equipment only have wired technology the only way to have them both connected in your room is to have another router. Wouldn't suggest it (not cheap, quite abit of tinkering for just two devices) If you're PC has more than one network adapter it may be possible to connect the xbox to the PC a little tinkering and using it as a server. Otherwise if your router is wireless buying a wireless adapter is a cheap way of connecting.

you could also buy a switch. plug it into the access point in your room then. plug your PC and Xbox into it. their not to expensive. take this one for example.

I think all that you need is a switch like CallumUk said and just plug the cable that goes into your PC at the moment into it and then plug both the XBOX and PC into it.

No need for a second router I don't think...

yep all you need to do by the look of it is split your connection coming into your room so you can use both your Xbox and PC online at the same time. Switch will do the job.
