Default Access Denied

ok so my laptop charger blew up, and i dont have 30 quid to replace it at the momement. i decided to take the hard drive out of my laptop and put it into an external casing. it works correctly but.

i recive a message telling me im denied from accessing the documents on the hard drive:



can anyone help me?

ive tryed using that unlocker program

That is because you chose the "Make my documents private" option on your account.

Try a live linux distro instead. Or can you get in long enough to remove the password on your account?

Yes. Put the disk back in the pc, blank your password, take it out and it will be readable in the other pc.

Yes, I think the security ID is used to enforce privacy. I guess no password means no checking of privacy. Pointless in an OS that doesn't use that ID though. (Linux?)

ok, i tryed removing password, thought because it might be an admin account, so changed it too a limted account, still no luck and have not got enough juice left in the laptop to do what you reccommened on the microsoft website
