Stick the CD in, reboot, go into setup and make sure you boot from CD ahead of from hard disk, then follow instructions. When it finds partitions, delete the lot, create a new NTFS one and all is plain sailing...

Also if you had hard drive problems e.g bad sectors do a full NTFS format. You can do a quick one which is faster but does not scan the drive for errors.

Default Advice on re-installing Xp?

hello everyone.
i have formatted quite a lot of computers over the years and its easy once you know how.
iam going to post a link below for a usefull website that explains how to install xp.
xp home and professional are only slightly different because xp home is for home users.
and xp professional is more aimed at people who own a business or do more tasks and need,
something more efficient for different reasons.

http://www.blackviper.com/Articles/O...allxphome1.htm
