Hiya,

Hope I'm putting this in the right place, computer noob here!

I just had to wipe everything off my son's pc and reinstall Windows Vista etc, but after I'd done it all I started to get this message everytime I boot it up (see pic). If I press F1 it then boots up ok but I don't understand why it is doing this or how I can get rid of it. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Sounds like an OS is not being detected or the drive is toast, are you sure the re-install went 100%.

Well, during the installation it made the pc reboot (as it said it would) and then I got the screen come up as per pic. So I went into F2 and changed the boot-up order back to the original so it wouldn't boot from the dvd drive anymore, then it booted up and continued with the installation.

But now, everytime we shut the pc off, it comes up with that screen again. Everything seems to be working perfectly once I have pressed F1.

I did not reinstall any drivers as I had checked under Device Manager and there were no yellow exclamation marks showing so I assumed all the drives were fine.

And there is only one OS on the pc, which is the Windows Vista Basic that I reinstalled, as I chose to format the hard drive when I did it.

Surely if a drive was 'toast' then it wouldn't be working normally after it has finally booted up?
