Hi everyone,

Whenever I try and play High Definition videos on my computer (Windows media player and Youtube) the video will freeze, then the screen will go blank (with the audio continuing in small bursts) and I eventually get a BSoD. Lower resolutions work absolutely fine for some reason....

If I'm really fast and close the program before it locks up my computer completely, then windows tells me that the video driver has stopped working but recovered, though as mentioned below, updating the drivers doesn't seem to be the issue

I have the Sapphire 1GB HD4850x2 Graphics card on window vista ultimate 64 bit, the rest of my computer spec is on my profile.

NOTE! I have already tried removing existing drivers using driver sweeper and updating the video drivers, this hasn't solved the problem.

Can anyone help me out?

I can give you the log from the BSoD if someone can tell me how to obtain it, (it won't take too long as I can get it on demand!)

Thanks,

Dan.

Have you tried a different player/codec pack ?

I use K-Lite Full with Media Player Classic and it plays all my 720p and 1080p files fine ..... I doubt if it's a driver issue, as that card should be fine with any type of HD playback.
