I just had a quick look in Device Manager and there is a exclamation mark on a yellow background next to the 'tmcomm' driver in the 'Non plug and play drivers'. That driver rings a bell and I'm sure had cropped up in previous stop errors and bug analysis. I will Google it see if there is a solution. Can you help with this one?

Right then - I think this may be my last post as I think I've cracked it (famous last words!!)
I went to Device Manager, as I said in my previous post, and went through all the devices to find a warning flag next to 'tmcomm' Device Manager->Non plug and play drivers->tmcomm->properties->device statusThis seems to belong to Trend Micro's 'Housecall' which is a on-line virus scanner - something I uninstalled a while ago. Then I went to Event Viewer and there were indeed some errors and warning. The most recent being (which coincided with the BSOD on start up): Event viewer->Error->DescriptionThe tmcomm.sys driver did not exist in the drivers folder, however the service still did as confirmed by the Event Viewer. So I went to the registry to delete the service: RegeditI suspect that the service was looking for tmcomm.sys but it did not exist therefore the error. I then restarted and cleaned up the registry using CCleaner. I restarted again (no BSOD) and checked the Event Viewer where there were NO errors or warnings. Success???? Let's hope so. |

Let's hope you have cracked it ....... I must admit, if it were me, I would have done a format and clean install a long time ago
