Okay, so I log on yesterday and am immediately prompted by a 'cannot find the associated files or file hierarchy with this user', or similar.

Instantly suspecting someone has deleted my entire library of personal files, I rooted around for them only to find nothing. Now, I know who could have done, but I just want to make sure this is definitely a case of pure, intentional deletion, not something accidental.

I know it's probably not the case, but is there a CHANCE that some bizarre scenario or event could simultaneously delete everything except the basic user files?

All multi-user software still remained, just everything specific to my ownership was gone.

Cheers

Default Cannot find the associated files or file hierarchy with this user

I'm using XP Pro, and trying hard to remember here, I think it said;

'Cannot find the files associated with this user', after which I logged in, Windows proceeded to essentially recreate the core user files, which makes me think my profile was essentially sent into oblivion-- but wasn't.
