Well, recently my computer crashed and I lost all of my music and pictures. I thought everything was gone but I remembered that I had everything on an old hard drive from a computer whose power supply went out. I got a sata to usb adapter and it connected and turned on fine. I was able to get some of my music off but only in certain files. When I tried to open any of the other files it said I did not have permission to access the files. I went through the prompts but I can not figure out what to do. I tried to take ownership of the hard drive, the folders, even individual files but nothing worked. Does anyone know what to do because I would be devestated if I lost my vacation pictures. Thank you very much for your help.

Note: My hard drive was from a XP computer and the computer Im trying to move the files to is Vista. I have an XP computer which I could use if Vista just wont work. If it wont work on vista do you know how to make it work on XP?
