Default Cannot select many items

I am trying to clean up a folder in Windows XP and when I attempt to select anything over 30 items (in this case songs) and right click in order to cut/delete/etc the folder stops responding or de-clicks them for me. I am also using a laptop if that helps. I can do this on my other computer, so why can't I here? Is there any way to select more items without this happening?

Thanks,
Zach
