ive got a serious issue with my PIII computer, ive just bought a new 500gb PATA HD for it and im trying to load windows 2000/XP on it but i cant, I boot from cd to start installing windows format the disk etc etc and then it says your computer is restarting in 15 sec time so it restarts but this is the problem instead of continuing where it left of it wants to boot from cd again and for the life of me i cant figure it out. Please help me?!?!

Make your CD drive the second boot option after the HDD in your BIOS.

yeah i know ive done that, but when i select boot first from HD it comes up with partioning table incorrect ?

Then the first bit of the windows install didn't go to plan.

make sure that you havnt got a bios with AV enabled

i ha this problem i simply reset bios settings by a jumper on the motherboard
go to your motherboard manual search for it on google should bring one up for you
