Default clean install xp

If you have wiped your drive you will need the product key no matter what OS you are trying to install.

I have product key for Win 2000 and win xp Pro, but not winnt4.0.

I have formatted hd and installed nt up to cd-key entry stage. Now I cannot seen to install either 2k or xp without nt key. Also unable to wipe nt from hd. xp will not boot from cd

What shall I do? Panicing doesn't seem to be working!

P.S writing from internet cafe as PC is non operational so I cannot download anything. Dire straits, truly dark times for moi

Right let me get this straight?
You tried to install Nt, but it failed, due to lack of product key?
You now try to install xp, but it won't allow it?

Ummm, 2000 is start-up bootable?
Have you changed the boot order?
Change it so the CD-ROM boots before the Hard drive, then try to wipe it through the installation?

After much trial and tribulation finally managed to get xp up and running.
Big thanks to all that came to my aid.
