Hello and welcome.

Please could you download Speedfan from HERE and report back with the temps for your system, CPU, and HDD.

Next download Everest Home Edition from HERE. Run Everest and click on the large computer icon in the righthand pane, followed by the sensor icon. This will give you a readout of your temperatures. It will also give you a readout of your psu voltages, this is what were interested in..

Check that your psu is putting out enough power for your system. Especially, check that there are enough amps on the 12volt rail. A lot of problems can occur from an underpowered psu.

Regards Jason

Tris, you really need to look at cooling your sytem, your CPU is reaching 'danger' point.

Compare to mine:

system: 38C
CPU: 31C
AUX: 27C

======================

Can you list your specs please.

I would consider getting some 'tie-backs' and get rid of all the cables that are trailing in your system.

Also, take out all PCI covers as this will allow more air flow inside your system.

Bring your computer more away from the wall, say 10-15cm. Get a can of compressed air and spray inside your sytem, and get rid of all dust in there, as dust is good insulator.

There are more things to do, but you need get your temps down, your CPU will fry otherwise.

Regards Jason

Well this is what it's like while downloading Everest..

What specs do you want me to list and where can I get them?

I've moved my computer away from the wall and I've hoovered it out, as said earlier on in the thread.

I'm convinced the fan(s) aren't doing their job properly. Do the RPM speeds look ok to you?

You can get specs from the Everest program.

Well do they look ok to you? It's saying 0RPM, which means they aren't even going. What fan and CPU do you have?

Regards Jason

Bump, help! :(

What can I do to keep my system cool?

The CPU fan seems to be spinning, but is 1172 RPM fast enough?

What about the other figures? Are these normal?

By the way the CPU fan always seems to be either 1172 or 1055 RPM

And does anyone know whether the power supply figures look normal, as I haven't a clue what they should be. Thanks
