Hey, we are having problems in that the main family computer is constantly rebooting itself and whenever you click on something, it will give you an error "xxx has encountered a prblem and needs to close etc", the situation has become rather bad as sometimes it wont let you onto the desktop without rebooting.

Tried safe mode, which does let you onto the desktop, but will still give loads of errors, like avast will crash as soon as you try to do a scan.

Help much appreciated.

The OS is Windows XP Home, if thats any help.

Well i managed to get to the desktop, so i turned off auto restart..then got a BSOD...

Error code IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

STOP: 0x0000000A....cant remember the the rest.

You should consider re-installing Windows. Before u do that make a back-up somehow
