I got that and have unticked a few that i dont need. qttask and such.

Also disabled wireless access services since my PC is on a cable, will turning off services like print spooler give a speed boost? Printer is knackered and no need for another

Yeah, if it's in the list it loads at startup so if it isn't needed then remove it. It all adds up.

If you go to print it will load anyway, Windows just likes to have everything ready and waiting, which in most cases isn't needed.

How is the speed now?

Take it you did a spyware scan with a decent scanner like superantispyware too?

the speed now is pretty acceptable. I'm on 36 processes and about 10 are using over 10k memory and all seems to be fine.

Not ran a spyware scan yet, using Ad-Aware though. That any good being the free version?

Yeah that's alright, a good one normally picks up something on even the cleanest of PCs, most spyware does not cause you to notice anything wrong so it's always good to do one even if you think you are clean.

A few tracking cookies, no proper threats. All is well in the spyware world!

Probably not a lot else I can do without forking out for another 2Gb of RAM for a PC ill be using for about another 6 weeks..
