| The wifes lap top has an error message that reads Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: <windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe. Please re-install a copy of the above file This is laptop is running on XP pro do you think it need a complete re-install. i have a copy xp home could i re-install it frm the home disc any help would be great Regards Foss |

| You could just do a Windows repair which will keep all settings and data intact, but you will need a matching disc to what you currently have installed. You could also start fresh but again unless you have a CD that goes with your license number you will get stuck. Dell normally supply discs for their machines or will probably send one to you upon request.
