I have been trying to perform a repair of Windows booting from the Windows XP Home Edition disc, however I get asked to type in the Administrator password, and I don't have one as I did not use one when installing Windows. I tried not entering a password and hit Enter, however it then displays C:\Windows and I dont know what to do next.
Any suggestions please. |

That means that is the right password (ie. none)

And you have reached the recovery console, in XP it's a command line interface, hence the C:\Windows> If you were trying to do an automatic repair then you need to proceed as if you were installing XP for the first time. It will tell you that there is already a volume containing XP, "would you like to repair this installation?" Press R I think it is, or whatever it tells you, to automatically repair anything that has become.. err.. in need of repairing.. What reason are you trying to "repair" XP? Sometimes it is much more appropriate to use the command line interface, and I might be able to tell you what tp type in. My System: FordyPC
