Heyy

I have a Windows Home Server, with passworded folders for each user. However, I can not access my user folder on certain machines, it just says access is denied. The machines have never asked me to enter a password. How can I enter my password?

I'm running on Win XP Pro 32bit.

Sorry if I've not been very clear on my problem, I can't think how to word it right!

It could be that some machines are just trying to access the shares as a guest. The easiest way is to map drives to the shares. In Explorer (Computer) select Map Network Drive. Fill in the drive letter and share name but be sure to click Connect Using Different Credentials, which should give you the opportunity to insert a username and password.

These things work best if the username and password on the client and server are identical.

Ha! Thankyou! That worked perfectly! I never noticed that option to insert different credentials. Feel a bit of a noob now :-P

And yeah, I know if the client and server passwords and user is the same it works, but the server password is extremely long! Hence not using it as a day to day password for a desktop PC.

Cheers dude
