Default Erm i think i have a couple of corropt files and registary problem

Erm i think i have a couple of corropt files and registary problem, ok i'l tell you what happened.

i was overclocking my pc trying to see how far it would go as i was told just keep going tell it wont boot or get in to xp, i try using a multiplyer slighly too high and it just kept trying to post but failed so i turned it down a notch and it got to the log in screen after entering my password it froze thought il turn it down another notch, this time it came up with a blue screen saying it could'nt find a registery file i thought oooo s**t, so i tryed again it came up with the check disk thing, and it try to do that but then came up with the same registery file missing or corrupt or something but before it even got to select user, so i went to safe mode hoping this would work it didnt just froze up left it for a good 30 mins, this time i clicked try last known good configuration so it managed to boot, now i thought thats good, my username there and my DP that i had selected managed to get password in, but now when i log in it see's me as a new user, it comes up with that thing where it sets up windows media player, and internet and that lot, apart from now i dont have my documents my background pic, or anything, i have found on the hard drive all my documents but now there is two usernames:

Matthew (the origanal one i had)
Matthew.MATT_PC
Matthew.MATT_PC.000

can anyone help me set this back so my documents are all back and i dont have this warning thing everytime i start up saying i have a corrupt file?

i know evilfantasy might be able to help

It sounds like you created or duplicated your account somehow. Can you just use the new one with all of your documents in it and delete the old one?

Not sure what to do. I think you have deleted some files or registry keys and will now have to do what you can to get things back the way you had them.

What settings are you talking about?
