Hi and hello to everyone.
I keep on receiving this error message "\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM" in my Windows XP computer. For the 1st time I received this message and I repaired my computer using Windows XP installation CD. After 3 to 4 days I received this kind of message back and I repaired my computer back using Windows XP installation CD. For the 3rd time the problem repeated after 1 week and I did the same thing again. Last week the problem repeated again after 5 days and I re-formated my whole system and turned off the Windows Update Service,but now the problem happening again. So,why is it like this and what should I do for this? For your information, my computer's specification is like this:- - Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 - Intel Dual Core E2180 Processor - 160GB SATA Hard Drive - SATA DVD-RW - Floppy Drive - 1GB DDR2-667 RAM Please help me on this. I'm assuming the full error message is :

"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt C:\windows\system32\config\system" This being the case and the fact that this has happened several times and following a reformat, I would suspect the problem lies with your Hard Drive. It would be a good idea to visit the drive manufacturer's website and grab their diagnostic utilities to check the integrity of the drive. My System: Home Build
