Hey people, i have a few questions about logging onto Windows...

I have Windows XP Pro installed on one of my Computers, and just recently, it has been logging on and showing a little box asking for a username and password, all i do is press enter and it logs me on (becuase my username is already in it, and i dont have a password).

So it used to look like this: http://pcforum.hu/site.pc/text/artic...s-xp-login.jpg

And now it looks like this: http://articles.techrepublic.com.com...0426shu01d.gif

Can somoene please explain to me why it has changed like this?

Also...My college has logins like this where you enter your username and password...

Do they use special software for this (like a special version of windows) or is it something different, i am looking to make users have to log on using this type of logon with the user and password from any computer on a network like it does in college, could somoene please tell me how i go about doing this?

Thanks....

David.
