Bit of a strange one this, but for some reason, all my folder and document icons have been replaced by the Windows symbol for a file it doesn't recognise. See screenshot:

It's not just folders/files on the desktop, if I open My Computer, all the files in there don't have their proper icons, and it's the same in my Start Menu. My Quick Launch items are unaffected. The folders all open like normal, but this is really irritating. Is there a way to fix this to revert all the folders back to normal? It hasn't affected any of the other users on my computer, just me - and I'm the main user. I don't know how this happened either, I certainly haven't messed around with Folder Views or anything.

Thanks for your help!

LOL, something has gone very wrong there!

I suggest you first try creating a new user account and seeing if you get the icons back that way.

If that doesn't work then I don't really know what to suggest. You may have to reinstall Windows....
