The admin password cannot be bypassed for a reason.

I'm pretty sure you will need to re-install XP.

You should not set a password without adding a personal note, or having somewhere safe to store the password. I am not sure how to change or bypass the passwords.

Blue

It is most probable that Knight is talking about a full administrator password that is set on install as against a Log on password.
We just need a little more information from him.

If you mean a BIOS set password take the battery out of your Motherboard for say 10 Min's then put it back (reboots the BIOS)

Look at it this way. You set a password up so your room mate couldn't use it.

How would you feel if your mate logged in here and asked the same question as you!

The whole point of password protection is protection.

I'm quite new here but I've been in this industry for some time now and its not the first time I've been asked this.

Just reinstall and use your backups.

I accept this may be a genuine case and these answers are not much help but try to see it from my point of view.

Perhaps others may see it differently.

You are quite correct Passerv and in my opinion there really is no other way to see it.

Offering advice as to a bios password removal is one thing but giving help with trying to circumvent admin or logon passwords is another.

Personal privacy is one reason why help will not given.

Possible theft of property is also a reason.

I don't see any further need for discussion on this matter so I'm closing the thread.
