Default Had It with windows

Hey everyone. I feel like going over to Ubuntu because I cant stand it anymore. Windows is so unreliable, The hard drive of which i kept all of my important stuff has just blown up in my face.
I would like to say that it ISNT the hard drive thats broken, the hard drive works perfectly, all the files on the hard drive have become corrupt and won't even open.
Yesterday I was using my computer as you would when the slave dissapeared off the My computer. I turn the pc off and try to jiggle the plug and when I launch it back up it starts doing a thirty minute diskcheck of my harddrive, next thing i know it deleteing all the files. It finnally finishes and I open my computer and go into the hard drive and none of the files will open.
Microsoft make their systems so liable to viruses that it could actually cause people to loose valuable data, I had a few long hard peices of work on that drive I am seriosly pissed off.
So I try doing a diskcheck on the OS.
What a bloody supprise An error message comes up, CANT CHECK THIS DRIVE
this would only happen with bloody windows.

AND on top of it, they expect people to buy their new peice of crap... VISTA.

I would like to mention one more thing....
I have a few freinds who have gone over to Ubuntu and this sort of thing never happens!
It cant get viruses, spyware and no hassle what so ever of the sort.

thanks for listening, this will probably start a dibate xD

System restore is unlikely to restore my files if by magic, they've been formatted off the drive and I didnt even give it authority to do that, it may as well just start a full blown format and reinstall without even asking me,

Why send a PM? A PM helps one person, while a thread helps everyone.

AND on top of it, they expect people to buy their new peice of crap... VISTA.
Have you tried Vista?

Microsoft make their systems so liable to viruses that it could actually cause people to loose valuable data, I had a few long hard peices of work on that drive I am seriosly pissed off.
No! The only reason there are many viruses for Windows is because it is used by many people. Malware makers are not going to make viruses for Linux, when not many people use it.

System restore is unlikely to restore my files if by magic, they've been formatted off the drive and I didnt even give it authority to do that, it may as well just start a full blown format and reinstall without even asking me,
Wow - that was pretty rude for someone trying to help you.

Regards Jason

I think that is rather rude, I only asked a question. I'm not saying I know every single thing. Attitude like that is only going to turn users away, your meant to set an example as a moderator.
