Ok So I just got a new computer with Vista on it. I put the old computers HD in my external HD-USB thing, when i plugged it in it shows up and stuff. But upon opening it it says "F:\ is not accessible. Access is denied." opened up properties and it shows that there is no used space and no free space. I checked it on another XP machine and there is no problem. I 'fixed' all the permissions on the HD and it still doesnt work.

NOTE i havent restarted for updates yet, that might help.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

i might be wrong, but i think that when you plug in a hard drive that is already formatted and has windwos on it or whatever, you need to install it, just like a new video card. would you be able to transfer the data from computer to computer? are you able to plug the hard drive inot a computer and tranfser the data using data transfer cables?
