Default hard drives and fresh install

hi eveyone

first of all, i do not know if i am in the correct heading. please correct me if i am not.

i was told to get my machine to run faster and smoother , i can install my xp home on a smaller drive and store all my info on another drive.( master and slave). is this true ? if it is please tell me how to go about doing this. from what i was explained,it makes sense on how the drives work. if that is the case, do i put all programs on a smaller drive or just operating system?

also, i just reinstalled my os and run reg cure. it tells me i have 200 problems, how can that be on a fresh install w/ only a few programs installed?

thank you for your time and patience and will be waiting for your reply

Default hard drives and fresh install

The way I have mine set up is a 60gig Sata with the OS on it and a 180gig with all other programs on it
I have all the programs that start at startup on the 60 and games and everything else on the 180
I have never heard of reg cure I will check it out now though, I use Advanced window care which is available in the download section

Splitting data over more than 1 hard drive will have no effect on system speed, unless you are running a RAID setup.

The setup you have described above will have no speed gain whatsoever.

That's normal, reg errors are common, most are not even noticeable so I wouldn't over analyse them.

If your PC is slow, even after a fresh install then you need to look at upgrading.

Default hard drives and fresh install

After reading about it here

The Good

The application looks good and integrates perfectly in Vista shell. All the menus and options are in plain view and easy to access.

The scan is fast and the areas covered are quite important.

The Bad

RegCure manages to detect huge numbers of errors in the registry. However, not all of them are fatal to your system and not all of them will contribute to your system's low performance.

The trial version does not allow cleaning all the areas of the registry so there is a bit of a problem evaluating the elimination capabilities of the application. Leaving two of the most harmless areas unrestricted for cleaning is not at all helping.

The Truth

The application is overzealous in doing its job, but that should not be a problem. However, displaying such large values for detected errors may scare the users a little and all those invalids may not all contribute to the system's degradation in time.
