| im trying to install windows 2000 on my Dell GX1 450+ but im having troubles the cd boots up and installs windows 2000 fine but this is where i have the trouble once the computer restarts, "you know when it says your computer is going to restart in 15 seconds time". instead of continuing from where it left of when its restarted it wants to boot up the cd again and start again EDIT it only allows me one 1st boot device at a time either cd, HD, floppy. to boot up cd i change it to cd, and once its restarted to conitnue the install i change it to HD but once i do that it says wrong partioning table? |

| It's all down to the hard drive. Assuming it's a working hard drive, how's it partitioned? Have you any existing partitions on it? Do you delete them during the CD phase and then tell 2000 to create a NTFS partition to install on?

Have you auto-recognized the hard drive with the BIOS to check the right settings have been saved? You're sure it's a big enough hard drive, not an old 300MB one? My System: Tim
