| ...up cd-rom!!!? I got my sons laptop Dell Latitude C600 (BIOS REVISION A23). Been working no probs then yest switched it on and get a message saying..''Windows could not start beacuse the following file is corrupt or missing...\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM.You can attempt to repair this file by starting windows set up using the original setup cd rom. Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair.''I do not have the cd rom, I have tried abs everything, my son uses it for his A level studies. I have tried seeing if I can perhaps burn a set up disc????? ANY IDEAS PLS...thanku!Ive tried using system recovery discs i have here for HPinvent, a message comes up saying..Error! Pc System not supported. Press any key to continue, then the same as message b4. |

| To get into the Windows 2000 / XP Safe mode, as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu" as shown below. Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.Once your in windows if it works then maybe you`ll get a better chance of repairing it |
