Check your Virtual Memory Settings :

Control Panel/System/Advanced, click Settings/Performance/Advanced ... by default XP sets these at 2.5 times your installed RAM .... for example if your RAM is 384mb, then 2.5 x 384 = 960mb.

You only need to change your virtual memory if windows tells you it is low and it has nothing to do with your actual RAM.

You're misinterpreting what I'm saying.

When your actual RAM runs out you start to use Virtual Memory which is a smart name for hard drive space.

So unless you have a low amount of real RAM or XP is telling you have low Virtual Memory you really need not worry or change anything.

Default help, pc slow and the virtual mem is low.

But.... it's irrelevant how much you set it to if you have a good amount of real system RAM as you will NEVER use the virtual memory.

Got there in the end...

If your PC is telling you that it is low then yes, set it to 1.5 times, so 960mb.
