| avg updated this morning said it needed to restart and now it will not come on go into windows welcome sign then just reboots again aggggggg and i have not got a clue what to do please any replys would be helpful i hate useing this lap top |

| Boot loop normally means windows files are corrupt, fixed either buy running a checkdisk on the drive or doing a windows repair using a windows CD.

| hi i have not got a clue what run a check disc means but i do have a windows xp disc so how do i do this as i have no idea what im meant to be doing |

| hi i have got to the recovery console and it says the following but i do not know what to do now ? type exit to quit the recovery console and restart the computer 1:c;\windows which windows installation would you like to log onto (to cancel , press ENTER)? |

| done that got 2 lots of c:\window come up and thats it |

| ok it started got to the desktop screen and rebooted again done it 5 times now ? |

| How old is the machine? It could be overheating. Clean the inside of dust, in particular the fans. |

| omg just got back from doctors and daughter has installed in my absence the back up disc now although the computer is now working , and she is in the middle of creating a new back up disc has she done the right thing ? |
