Hello all, first time poster here.

My brother has a problem with his keyboard in the respect that the @ sign is where the " should be, and vice versa. I've checked the regional settings, and they are showing correctly as UK. Does anyone know how I change it back to normal ?

Many thanks in advance.

When he's setup windows initially (or whoever set it up) they've/he's selected the incorrect region/type settings.

It's that long since I've done it please give me a few mins to wrack my brains (and probably swear a lot) and I'll come back to you. Unless someone else knows now?

The keyboard country is definitely showing as UK already, so it can't be that.

I always thought you could change which characters appear when each key is pressed, or was I imagining it ?!

Start > control panel > date, time, language and region options.

In the Region options tab make sure its set to United kingdom.

In the Advanced tab make sure it's set to United Kingdom

In the Languages tab, click 'details' make sure it's set to united kingdom.

You'll probably be asked to reboot, please do so.

Hi again.

Thanks for your help, he's sorted it out now.

We followed your instructions, and it was fine once he'd rebooted.

Once again, thank you both for your help.
