Get Windows XP....if your computer cant...get a new computer with XP

Get Xp , or if you cant.. get windows 2000.98 has no effective error control... starting with windows 2000 they started to deal with error's more effectively. So even windows 2000 is more stable then 98

Looks like you are adding more complexity to your installation - why would you need both adaware and spybot? Ditch adaware first - takes up too many resources compared to spybot, and spybot is fine on its own without adaware - they conflict.If you are using win 98 first edition, upgrade to second edition - first edition was crashy beyond belief - 98SE was much better.Try and keep your installation simple - take off anything you don't need installed. Clear stuff in startup, etc.Never use win 98 on the Internet - there are too many security risks. Disable windows file sharing, install a firewall, etc. It might be crashing because its infected with a virus / trojan.

a quick solution is to reinstall your Windows 98. That will solve all your crashes; make sure to back up your data prior to reinstall
