You know that when you encounter an error message, you have to grab pen and paper and transcribe it all, because you will be asked what it said......

But how can you print them?

At times you can use the "print screen" option, but at times not.

Why aren't they set up with a "print" button?

You usually can't grab the text with ctrl c / v.

That's because your computer is in an abnormal unexpected state and it's panicked. Pen and paper are all you have left. Be thankful the monitor's still there to tell you the last gasp of the dying program, some problems won't even get that far.

Modern enthusiasts of technology keep a digital camera by their computer just to handle moments like these. They can then post the jpg.

LOL We actually did the digital camera thing!

Why don't YOU write code to make them print automatically to a printer or a file??? You'd be rich beyond your dreams!!!!

You can copy error messages by clicking on the title bar of the window and hitting CTRL-C.

Many applications dump their errors to a file, and having them go to a printer every time would be a little annoying, especially for those who wrote their own apps and got them all the time ;)
