Will software/ application be compatible with Windows 7? I remember when migrating from XP to VISTA i had some software compatible issues... And also how good is Windows 7 compared to VISTA or XP?...

There could be compatibility issues with some software, especially if it's old ....... but most of the stuff I have chucked at it works fine, in fac't the only thing that hasn't worked so far for me is SuperAntiSpyware, but I'm sure this will be rectified before Windows 7 is officially released.

If you look around the download section of CNet (Just an example) you'll notice that most modern programs are displaying Windows 7 as well as XP, Vista etc. in their supported OS's.

I think both MS and developers have learned from the XP->Vista transition and are trying to implement a change earlier on this time, so as to make it a smoother ride.

i'd say stay away before a completely stable release is out, even then i'd still be happy with XP.
