Well I was thinking about getting a SSD when I get vista for fast boot and OS load times, however I would like to be able to just get a 32GB drive, Will this be enough? because the microsoft website recomends 40GB drive space for vista, but if the drive is only going to have the OS on it, It should need less space, shouldn't it?

Thanks

You can install it on a 20gig so you should have no trouble on a 32gb, it takes about 10/15

Sometimes the caching files that are stored by vista on same drive where it is installed is bigger, but I doubt it will be needed more than 30 Gb.

ok, so even with all the updates and things? and for things like DX10, whould that have to be installed on that drive too, or could it be put on a seperate drive?

ok, thanks, I just need to decide on whether it is worth the extra money to go for a SSD aswell, but I won't be getting vista for a while (can't afford it with the rest of my computer) so SSD's might have droped in price a reasonable amount by then.

yea, I was going to wait anyway, it will take me a while before I can afford it, but in the mean time I'm going to try Vista home premium that my dad got with a pc but isn't using.
